| Bio: |  Bella was born in the small town of Forks, Washington to Charlie and Renee Swan - a couple who had married too young, it seemed, as they split up when Bella was still very young. Renee left Charlie and took Bella from the cold and dreary Forks with her to a much bigger, sunnier city - Phoenix, Arizona. There Bella had problems with fitting in, but was never really all that troubled by her social status or lack thereof. Instead she focused her efforts on her mother. Renee, described by Bella as being slightly hare-brained, had the spirit of a person the age of her daughter and whenever she could would lean on her, finding real caring and support in Bella. When Renee got together with Phil Dwyer, a man she intended to marry, Bella decided that it would be good to give the new couple some space for a while. Instead of staying in Arizona with the two of them she decided to move in with her father back in wet, green Forks. In Forks, Bella found something that she’d never had in Phoenix - Sudden (and unwanted) popularity. She gained attention from a few of the guys at Forks High and the fast friendship of a few girls, most notably Jessica Stanley. She also made a fierce new enemy of Lauren Mallory. It was odd to get so much attention so suddenly, but weirder yet was the reaction she got from Edward Cullen. The first day she sat next to him as his partner in biology class he gave her looks that seemed to suggest that he utterly detested her. When he was absent for a few days, Bella let the irrational thought that he’d left school because of her play in her mind. Stranger yet, when he returned it was as if he’d never given her those looks of disgust. He was perfectly pleasant to her. She was ready to put the peculiar incident out of her mind until something even stranger happened to her. Tyler Crowley, a fellow student at Forks, lost control of his van. In a split second it veered and was headed straight for her. According to logic, Bella should have died, but Edward Cullen, using what seemed to be superhuman speed and strength, saved her life. After the occurrence he reluctantly agreed to explain things ‘later’, but it was Jacob Black who unintentionally made all of the odd things click in Bella’s mind. When Bella was up in La Push with friends from school, she pulled Jacob aside and he eventually got to sharing Quileute legends about the ‘Cold Ones’ - vampires. After confirmation in a conversation with Edward, everything made sense. Thankfully, for the Cullens, Bella can keep a secret. | |||||||||
